Introducing iPhone XC

Introducing iPhone XC, the Cheaper Kind of iPhone X

iPhone X is revolutionary in many fronts. Its performance is exceptional while its design is groundbreaking. But those are not the only areas the phone is being superb at. Its price is also chocking. Many have questioned if it was a great decision to put the iPhone X at a price range only the rich seems capable of affording. In reality, there are still many out there who crave for the phone but can only dream of even touching it. Now, good news for has surfaced and it might be one that could be kind to your wallet. Apple HQ is rumored to be working on a cheaper version of the overpriced X, the iPhone XC.

The base model for last year’s cheapest iPhone cost £699. Leaks about the new affordable iPhone X’s sequel popped up in China in a slide that also includes two other iPhone models: the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Plus. The slide mentions of iPhone XC as being an LCD screen of 6.1 inches. It was thought that Apple sought to name this particular phone the iPhone 9 but the company might have changed their mind on this matter. So, the next question would be when it will be out.

Apple will be holding a major event for iPhone launch at Apple Park campus in California soon on September 12, local time. It is expected that the three iPhone models are to be unveiled at this event but they could go on sale way later following the event. Preorder is expected to open on September 14 while the phones are expected to hit the stores (and delivered to customers) from September 21 onwards. iPhone’s design remains unchanged for many years. In 2017, however, everything changed with the introduction of iPhone X, which did away with bezels and physical button.

Watch Out, iPhone X

Watch Out, iPhone X! There’s a New Expensive Phone in the Horizon

The Galaxy S10 is claimed to be the most expensive the company has ever put out—even making iPhone X seem cheap. The reason behind this? Its inclusion of the 5G tech. The Galaxy S10 is to sport a display of 6.44 inches and comes with not one, not two, but five cameras (two on the front, three at the back). The S10 line is set to unveil at CES in 2019 and may hit the market after March 5. All three models in the lineup are equipped with in-screen fingerprint sensor. Two models are of high-end market and feature an ultrasonic display, under which a fingerprint sensor is embedded. The other one is of entry level and uses an optical fingerprint sensor.

Qualcomm is thought to be the one supplying the S10 with the ultrasonic sensor. The sensor will create 3D-mapped fingerprint to scan digits, working more accurately than the traditional scanners. Light, sweat, or grease has nothing on the way the sensor works. The optical sensor, on the other hand, is way cheaper than the ultrasonic. It works the way a digital camera does and may not work as accurate as the ultrasonic one as extraneous factors may affect its scanning task.

Samsung is also reported to develop its own GPU. The new GPU is claimed to be able to put Samsung on par with Apple with a design so good it can be used in every platform—from supercomputers to cockpits. The S10 is said to feature smaller bezels, unlike S9, which is an exact copy of the S8. The screen to body ratio of the S10 will be much more improved than the S9, at around 90%. The presence of the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor could mean the end of the physical home button. It also has a number of advantages over the optical kind of scanners.

The Most Useful Features Brought about by Android Pie

Android Pie is officially here although it is still limited to certain types of phone. Google officially rolled out its latest Android flavor in early August 2018. The update was only pushed to Google Pixel phones for the time being with partners in the Android P project are set to roll their own take on the update in the coming months. So, aside from new look and feel, is there anything else to expect of this new flavor of the operating system? As it turns out, Google did not only focus on the esthetics. Several new tools and features are also included.

There is now a screenshot tool presented in a simplified interface. The Screenshot option will be offered after pressing and holding the power button. The old method of taking screenshot can still be used. Once the image is saved, an Edit button will appear on the preview notification. Choosing it will allow for drawing, cropping, or highlighting before sharing. A lockdown mode is included on this update for extra security. The feature will disable the fingerprint sensor or voice unlock. It will immediately revert to a backup unlock method such as a PIN or a pattern unlock.

The Most Useful Features Brought about by Android PieGesture navigation is another feature added to the new update. Android is known for its three-button navigation. Now, you can completely abandon that method and resort to gesturing over the screen instead. A single home button is provided. The button can be tapped once to go back to home screen, swiped right to go back, swiped up to view recent apps, or swiped left to switch between apps. Battery status is now displayed on the ambient screen. The battery percentage can be seen at the bottom of the display. Some phones already feature battery percentage but it can give users more info in the process.
