With the latest addition to Apple’s iPhone line, the iPhone 7 is a mixture of your favorite iPhone features and a few new tricks. Apple is known for its trademark design, which may make it a challenge of changing the identity.
While some say the differences between the iPhone 6 and iPhone 7 are minor, there sure are some bigger changes too – most notably the headphone jack. The new jet black color is new as well as it hides the antenna sensors with a bit of gloss or matte. We’re just hoping to see some rose gold and gold options too!
It may look the same, but the iPhone 7 is entirely different
The initial reaction was that the iPhone 7 looks exactly like the previous iPhone 6s. However, there are several differences. This includes the bigger camera lens and the antenna bands that no longer appear on the backside of the device. While the color is always a debate for every iPhone, the iPhone 7 comes in five colors – silver, gold, rose gold, jet black, and matte black, or as we’d like to call it, the bat mobile.
It’s a performance powerhouse
The iPhone 7 has the all-new A10, which is considered as Apple’s most powerful processor. The quad-core is 40% faster than the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6s plus combined. It also runs at a higher efficiency and uses less power. We were also promised with the iPhone 7 having the best battery life than the previous models.
It’s the first iPhone with Stereo speakers
As the first iPhone will stereo speakers, you can blast your music even louder than before. This is a significant upgrade from the questionable iPhone 6s.
There’s no headphone jack
One of the biggest questions to the iPhone 7 is “why did they even bother to remove the jack?” Well, in turns out that having a large opening in the phone wouldn’t work out so well if the phone is water resistant. But we’ll get to that in a bit.
Apple has ditched the headphone jack, but there is still a headphone jack adapter that allows you to use your existing headphones. However, you won’t have the luxury of charging your phone while listening to music at the same time.
The latest version is water resistant
In the past, many iPhones were damaged due to dropping in a toilet, getting wet and even when dropped in the water. The great news is that fans won’t have to worry about that with the iPhone 7. As the first waterproof iPhone, it will stay resistant to spills and even a high drop. The waterproof seals is said to protect the device and keep it safe from moisture. You won’t have to worry about dust either as the entire device is sealed. The IP67 rating is said to protect the device as there aren’t any holes to get any dirt or grime in it.
The camera now has low lights
While there are a few differences with the new iPhone 7 and the previous iPhone 6, there are some new upgrades that you may want to take a closer look at. This includes the optical image stabilization. While this feature was first added to the iPhone 6s, it now has a 12 MP sensor. The camera is also said to be 60% faster and saves 30% more energy. This means you won’t have to worry about your battery draining while you’re off taking pictures all day.
The lens has a wide aperture which receives more light. When paired with the TrueTone flash, it now has four LEDs and an anti-flicker that allows the shutter to adjust and handle artificial light. Another great feature is that you can save your images in both RAW and JPEG files with a full-color gamut. The front camera has also taken a facelift with its 7 megapixel HD sensor.
For the iPhone 7 Plus, it has an additional telephoto lens that allows you to zoom in. There is also a button which allows you to enjoy 2x lossless zoom. You can also zoom in 10 times more without the loss in quality.
It has the new iOS 10
One feature you’ve probably already heard about is the new iOS 10. The device has a mind of its own with its Raise to Wake function included. The iOS 10 appears to have the most chances in messages as you can now send invisible or handwritten texts.
Clearly, Apple is always looking to step up their game, and they’re doing a fantastic job of doing so. Comment below and tell us what you think about the new iPhone 7.
